Sorry if this doesn't quite fit the forum. But it is urgent:
It's about a very simple garden shed. Its roof is covered with tiles and is leaking. Now a new roof is to be installed:
Rafters (spacing approx. 60 cm)
OSB board on the rafters
Roofing felt on the OSB board
Battens on the OSB board
Concrete roof tiles
The shed is finished(!)
The person who wants to carry this out suggests OSB boards with a thickness of 12 mm. That seems quite thin to me. I would be concerned that they might eventually sag under the weight of the concrete roof tiles.
What is the opinion of the experts (gut feeling)? Is 12 mm sufficient or better 15 or even 18 mm?
Thank you very much!
Melanie
PS: Please no comments (even if well intended) that the setup is wrong anyway, or that one should rather use clay roof tiles, or or or... I am really only interested in the assessment of the thickness of the OSB boards.
