Unused building plot. What tasks do I need to complete?

we already own a building plot in a small developed residential area. Since our construction project will be significantly delayed for various reasons, the following two questions arise for us. 1. As the landowner am I obliged to do anything about the heavy weed growth? Should I regularly plow through it or cut it down accordingly? (The residents of the neighboring plots feel somewhat disturbed) 2. Should the property generally be properly fenced, or are signs (No trespassing....) sufficient?

I am not aware of any such obligation; however, I would ask myself 2 questions:
1. How do I want to be received in the neighborhood when the project is realized? :mad:
2. How clever and mean are your future neighbors? :D If trash ends up on your property, you are at the latest obliged if a neighbor claims to have seen a rat there. And the really bad and popular thing is the open used oil canister disposed of there - afterward, your money won’t be enough for any house anymore!

So you shouldn’t ask yourself what you must do – but what makes sense to protect yourself (fence, signs, property maintenance, and a conversation with the neighbors)!
