How about impact sound?
Who cares about impact sound in the garage? Under the garage attic to be renovated there are at most cars or bicycles. Otherwise, it hardly matters whether EPS/XPS/PUR or whatever. The main thing is that the correct compressive strength or other specifications are met.
Suppose I now use a 70 mm PUR board instead of the 50 mm Styrofoam board.
Then the thermal insulation is perhaps twice as good (can be calculated). Goal achieved.
This would have been integrated in the studded sheet ..
I don't like studs anyway. Although it is somewhat easier for laypeople to use, it is also less flexible (laying distances, thickness, an extra board with studs needed).
