Hello everyone,

We are in the middle of the interior finishing and having problems painting the ceilings.
Although I used the most expensive paint from the hardware store, the stripes from the paint roller are clearly visible on the self-painted area. I just repainted the ceiling and applied less pressure, but the result was unfortunately the same.
What am I doing wrong, what could be the cause?

Roll several times and each time perpendicular to the previous direction. Perhaps you have chosen the wrong roller; is it a [Fellwalze]? There are also rollers for varnishes, floor coatings, etc., which do not work with interior dispersions. If in doubt, ask at the hardware store.

A specialist needs to be consulted here and I also think it is due to the wrong roller. We have experienced that before. I could have gone crazy and these stupid stripes simply would not go away. Only the use of a different ink roller brought significant improvement.

Expensive does not always mean good. The right tools are also crucial. It also makes sense to paint the ceiling under the right lighting conditions. The roller must match the paint, and the manufacturers provide the exact information here. Painting is done starting from the window, and an additional light source helps to eliminate shadows. The edges should be painted with a brush; a roller is not suitable here.

I know that too. A lot of effort is made and the result is not satisfactory. I think everyone has already paid this kind of tuition fee.

For me, it was the wrong roller. The paint simply did not cover properly. The roller was changed and then it worked better and looks good.

Here, the color can also be the cause. Even if it was the most expensive in terms of price, it does not mean it is the best.

But it can also be due to the technique and the tool. I always try a piece beforehand and then see how it looks. If it doesn't look good, then the error is searched for.

Only then does the work begin. ;)
