I have been diligently following along these days. Thank you very much for the opinions and comments! We will probably now also plan two windows with a sill height of 40 cm and a fixed part in the children's rooms ☺

How about you, what is the height of your windows? Our rooms will be 2.55 m high. How high should the windows ideally be?

P. S. To protect our children, we would like to install lockable handles for the windows with a 40 cm parapet height.

With roller shutters, the height is clearly specified. In the upper floor, a floor increase is also worth considering (otherwise the windows might look very low).

As already mentioned here, it is basically not allowed to have a 50 cm fixed part + 40 cm window. Anyone can step onto the windowsill, and then 40 cm is simply too little. It doesn't matter at all whether the lower element is lockable or not. Just imagine a 40 cm high barrier and consider how well it really protects against falling...

To be able to stand on the banks, you have to be quite acrobatic. If you fall, you fall backward into the room.

I can understand Payday, but I think it is meant to be fixed at the bottom and closed at the top. No one falls out. We at least have this kind of "two-piece" and are satisfied with it. By the way, our two-and-a-half-year-old has been climbing onto the bench for a year, standing on it and looking out (even though it would be possible from the floor). I believe children should not be underestimated. But I don't like the bars on the outside that would be needed in other solutions.

So now open the split window properly at the top and leave your daughter alone in the room. Well, would you do that? If not, then the protection is more than inadequate! You also don't have to be particularly acrobatic as a child. For adults, this railing is less intended anyway; they can fall from over 90 cm as well.
