Hello,
I am a bit puzzled, apparently we have 2 septic tanks on the property. Is there a reason for this or what else could the second tank be?
We have a house (built in the 60s) with a large plot of land. It was connected to the sewer system about 10 years ago, before that everything went into the septic tank.
Now we have one septic tank, which really makes sense: it is right next to the house, close to the wastewater facilities. So far so good.
But now we have a second tank about 15-20 m from the house with a lid and apparently also a vent (a pipe comes up). But it doesn’t make sense. Very far from the house, about 10-15 m from the other tank and otherwise no obvious purpose. We didn’t find any inflow.
Also, contamination can be ruled out. When the house was built, there was forest all around. The tree right next to it is probably older than the house, although the lid is identical to the other tank (so probably also dates from the house construction).
Does anyone have an idea what this is?
We want to convert at least the front tank into a rainwater cistern. I wouldn’t mind a second one either, even if I would first have to lay 20 m of pipes there.
Strange thing
