Hello everyone,

I currently still have an old building with only minimal insulation.

The U-value of the facade is 0.965 W/(m²K).

Now, I have very many, very large window areas in the house; the south side is almost only windows at the top and bottom. These windows are of course very expensive, and only with triple glazing could I receive funding here.

These new windows mostly have a lower U-value: 0.81 to 0.93. Is there a high risk that mold could develop here? Should one rather opt for double-glazed windows?

It is not the glazing that causes mold. It is the airtight installation (please note, using only foam is no longer state of the art) and user behavior. ==> Proper heating and ventilation are the two points to consider. Then there will be no mold problems.

Thank you, so it means:

The window installer must install everything airtight and perfectly.
Regular shock ventilation should be done, not tilted ventilation.
It should be ensured that the humidity is between 40-60%, preferably with a hygrometer.

If this is done, then mold is basically excluded.

Right?

Yep. The only problem can (but doesn't have to) be cabinets standing completely against the wall, since there can be no air exchange there. But that is also something you can control yourself.

Right, but as long as you keep the distance there, it shouldn't be a problem.

You forgot to heat properly. If you have cold walls and only 20-degree warm air, everything will condense on the wall. This can be a problem especially in the bedroom, as it is not heated that warm there.
