Tips for Nailing the Ikea Pax Back Panel

I need some help with nailing the Pax Pax back panel: The holder/template is so short that the nails are placed on the last half millimeter of the Pax back panel. Is that correct? Off the top of my head, I would rather place the nails in the middle of the outer boards. After all, the Pax back panel is supposed to stabilize the carcass, right?

Half a millimeter is really a bit tight. The back panel can easily tear out. I would replace the nails with screws anyway. This allows for easy, non-destructive disassembly when moving.
