Of course, you don't need it.
But since I have just been to several bathroom showrooms, I noticed that it was exhibited there in large quantities. So you have to consider it if you want something like that.

On the topic of sockets in window recesses. For those who currently have manual roller shutters and might want to retrofit electric strap winder later, it makes sense to have a socket there.

Do women feel safer because of it?

One button press and a defined state is triggered throughout the whole house.

e.g.
At night you are lying in bed and hear someone in the house and get "panic"

Button pressed.
Lights turn on everywhere
The music blares at full volume from the speakers.
The blinds go down
The police are alerted
etc etc.
You can do it however you want.

Thousands of ideas are not a bad thing, but without [Hausautomation] they are usually difficult or only possible with great effort to implement.
