Hello house construction forum!

For us, the time has come next week and the screed will be laid (flowing anhydrite screed).
When could one start tackling the wall tiles in the bathroom and WC? Basically, I don’t have to wait for the appropriate residual moisture in the screed here, right?

Could one not already start after 4 weeks, when most of the moisture has left the screed, and then immediately proceed to the floor tiles, or am I thinking wrong?

As a substrate, we have gypsum plaster in the WC and lime-cement plaster in the bathroom.

Thank you very much for your ideas/comments :-)

Regards Sushi

You can only lay tiles when the residual moisture is sufficiently low. Your tiler should be able to tell you when he can and wants to lay them. Under no circumstances lay them too early. The screed loses a lot of water.

Yes, does the residual moisture in the screed have an impact on the lime-cement plaster on the wall? That is precisely the crucial point where I have not yet found any information.

Thank you very much!

You should tile the floor first anyway, otherwise it'll be a complete mess

Nonsense - the wall tiles can be installed after at most one week. Floor tiles of course only after the drying phase or at the appropriate residual moisture.

I would be careful, if the screed is not completely even, it must be leveled and then the fiddling at the wall looks stupid
