Hello,
in our further house planning, the question now arises which flooring we should choose for the entire ground floor (hallway, utility room, kitchen, dining/living room). We have underfloor heating, white interior doors, and a fireplace.

The options available are a wood-look tile in the size 20x80 or 15x90, a high-quality laminate floor for commercial properties, or a prefinished parquet floor?

What would you recommend based on durability, coziness, and sensitivity?

Do you have manufacturer recommendations? What should be considered with a wood-look tile?

Hi,
we have also planned wood-look tiles (Gant in 80*20) in the hallway, kitchen, pantry, and downstairs bathroom. The rest will be parquet. Good laminate with wear class 33 also quickly costs around 20 euros, and cheap stuff doesn’t survive a kids’ phase. We currently have some cheap stuff in here, and deep scratches appear incredibly fast, which can no longer be concealed. With (oiled) parquet, you can repair such things (to some extent). However, you should then plan for 40-50 €.

You can lay parquet both as a floating floor and quite well by yourself, which might even be cheaper than tiles that have to be professionally installed.

Best regards,

Andreas

Laminate = plastic. Personally, I think a plastic floor has no place in the house. Therefore, I would choose wood (glued), alternatively tiles.

Well, I find that very generalizing. I couldn't imagine my life without plastics.

In a private home, I would personally always prefer wooden flooring over laminate. Tiles with a wood look don’t appeal to me either. When it comes to durability and coziness, parquet clearly comes first for me. One could consider vinyl flooring when it comes to sensitivity. As for manufacturers, Parador is my favorite. The click system convinces me simply here, even with laminate. Sent from my handheld device
