Tiles, system, where to start

Hello,

I or a good tiler friend of mine want to start tiling soon. I just don't know exactly where I/we should begin.
I have attached a plan. I want to tile the living/dining room and kitchen. The tiles are 90 x 45cm.

Can someone help me where it is best to start in this room?
My buddy knows what he's doing but would also like to have some idea so I can participate in the planning.

Where are the expansion joints? Is the kitchen already tiled? Also with the 45 x 90 ones?

I thought the same.... If the friend KNOWS his stuff, he will set the pace and not the other way around.....

A tiler already thinks about where to start when entering the room. Measure beforehand so that there are no 1cm strips at certain edges.
