Hello everyone,

since we are currently searching for properties at full speed, we naturally do not want to overlook any opportunity. So far, we have been searching through the usual internet portals, real estate agents, and newspaper ads.

Now I have selected undeveloped plots via [BayernViewer] and would like to approach the owner directly and ask if they would sell. What options do I have now to get the data? The last option would probably be to ring the neighbors and ask if they know the owner. But are there other possibilities? Or basically other channels through which properties can be found?

Thanks and best regards
Marquise

From personal experience: * No - the land registry office only provides information if there is a "legitimate interest." Pure purchase interest does not qualify. * We also tried direct approaches - the reactions were consistently annoyed and dismissive. It depends on the area, but near a metropolitan area, owners know the value of their property very well and do not wait for buyers.

Too bad... It may not be a metropolitan area, but it is still very popular and therefore incredibly difficult to get a building plot :(

Hello,

I also have a somewhat unusual tip:

If you are interested in a piece of land whose owner cannot be found, you can consider visiting the local police station.

There, you tell the police officer remorsefully that you accidentally drove onto the property while turning around, caused minor damage to the grounds, and ask for information about the owner so that you can settle the matter privately. ;)

Apparently, this works quite well - but you shouldn't do it too often, otherwise the police might start doubting your driving abilities...

Dirk

Isn't that pretending to commit a crime? ;-)

Well, not really a criminal offense, if anything, it might still be an administrative offense...
