A friendly hello to the users/readers of the housebuilding forum,
Over the weekend, I attended the Bau- & Wohnträume fair in Pulheim. There, I got to know one of the winning products of the competition named in the subject, organized by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
But first: What is a "Übermorgenmacher"?
"Übermorgenmacher" live in Baden-Württemberg, are at least 16 years old, and work – professionally or privately – on an exciting future project. Usually, they are individuals. However, some "Übermorgenmacher" also work in small groups on a joint project.
Übermorgenmacher dedicate themselves to technology, science, or research; they work in medicine, manage projects in the social sector or ecology, seek improvements for daily life, or work to optimize education in our country. In short: They work exactly where the future is developed and the world of the day after tomorrow is shaped. They do this professionally or perhaps also in their free time.
One of this year’s winners is Bernd Sauer. He developed the AZUR INDEPENDA self-consumption system and thus set the course for the production and storage of ecologically clean electricity for personal use.
The intelligent self-consumption system, presented in early June 2011 at the world’s leading trade fair Intersolar in Munich, enables private households as well as small and medium-sized enterprises to transition from dependent consumers to nearly independent energy producers.
In the intelligent self-consumption system, solar power is distributed within the house by a so-called energy manager, controlled by computer. Depending on current demand, it is automatically used directly, stored (in a special solar storage system in the basement), or fed into the public grid in the case of overproduction. For the homeowner, this means: They always have power and receive up to 80 percent of their electricity needs via their photovoltaic system on their own roof. This relieves the power grids and the environment, reduces COâ‚‚ emissions, and saves money.

Example:
You invest, for example, for the system size L (6.345 kWp capacity) just under €30,000.00 (net end-customer price of €30,000.00 including all incidental costs such as substructure, remuneration from the Renewable Energy Act, as well as maintenance contract and interest).
You save a total of around €55,000.00** in electricity costs over 24 years. Despite the investment, you make about €30,000 over the course duration.
You arrange the financing conveniently through your house bank, your building society, or through a KfW loan.
**The calculation example is based on an electricity price of 0.26 cents/kWh, an annual electricity price increase of 6% (including 2% inflation), an interest rate of 5%, a self-consumption share of 80%, a maintenance contract of 250 euros per year, and electricity yield of 950 kWh/kWp/year.
Renewable Energy Act remuneration comparison for self-consumption
At 100% feed-in to the grid, the Renewable Energy Act rate is 24.43 ct.
At 70% feed-in to the grid and 30% self-consumption: 26 ct for the saved electricity price + 8.05 ct Renewable Energy Act for self-consumption = 34.05 ct.
Your advantage with self-consumption compared to 100% feed-in (of 24.43 ct) is 9.62 ct.
At 20% feed-in to the grid and 80% self-consumption: 26 ct for the saved electricity price + 12.43 ct Renewable Energy Act for self-consumption = 38.43 ct.
Your advantage with self-consumption compared to 100% feed-in (of 24.43 ct) is 14 ct.
As of 2012. All ct amounts per kWh.
Kind regards
