Hello dear forum community,
we have been moved in for almost a year now, but one trade has only completed about 80% of the work. There have already been a thousand deadlines that were not met, but also a lot of money that he has not received from us. In theory, it would not be a problem to find someone else who would complete the remaining work for the money. I don't really want to go to a lawyer now, so I would like your opinion. Should I just terminate normally and then look for someone else? Or stay within the contract, and if the other person is more expensive, would that possibly be a damage resulting from the non-fulfillment of the contract?
We don't even have a normal contract with the craftsman. It is a signed one-page offer. So regular law applies without any special contractual agreements.
