@ Tolentino:
First of all, in all product data sheets, the specification of product properties refers to a set of rules (i.e., standards) with minimum requirements or to a test standard. Thus, it seems that the situation in flooring technology is different from that in the electronics industry.
Of course, the standards define "only" minimum requirements. However, this is usually sufficient, as I can report from my own professional experience.
All assumed defects are purely hypothetical; in case of damage, an analysis of the actual (local) conditions and usage histories is always necessary.
As far as I personally would be absolutely negative about a caffeine-containing beverage, which at a pH value of 1 (strongly acidic) mainly consists of water, phosphoric acid, flavoring ingredients, and sugar, an annual turnover of €2.7 million in 2018 would obviously contradict that.
But certainly, one or the other consumer notice may tip the balance, in one direction or the other....

Since we're on the topic - why is vinyl actually so popular right now? Isn't it just plastic? And the versions offered to us weren't exactly cheap either. Why do people choose it?

Because it is currently "in" and can be installed very easily by oneself. It used to be laminate flooring, now it is "design flooring".
