Hello everyone,

I've been racking my brain for days.
At the house, there is a slope from the driveway to the garden.
However, I would like to create a step-free descent into the garden here.

Before I describe it in a complicated way, here is a sketch.
Do you think I need a structural engineer for this?
I was thinking of terrace steps with 3 levels, each with about a 70 cm wall made of water-resistant stones.
Each on a gravel bed at an angle of about 10° towards the slope.

At first, I thought of a 2m high wall (at the highest point), but I was unsure about the dimensioning of the foundation.
In the end, the terraced slope would certainly be the more natural and nicer option (well, it is a matter of taste).

What do you think? Feasible without a structural engineer?
How wide should the terraces be?

Are there also people here who could generally help me with the garden design?
Once I am at garden level, I would have another 400 m² for various antics
But for now, the descent down is most important to me.

Statics is certainly not required here, since it’s not about loads or load-bearing components. The advice of a local landscaper would definitely be helpful here. In general, I think the solution is quite well done. In the broadest sense, it will be a natural stone wall as a dry stone wall. The right side is not quite clear to me. There you reach a height of 210. You need a strip foundation at the bottom. Does it then go down 2m? You will need fall protection there.

Thank you for your response. On the left and right there are, of course, neighboring properties that all have a similar problem. All of them have only one staircase to the garden plots, but I want to make more out of it and also be able to go down with bicycles and whatever else. On each side, a retaining wall is naturally planned, especially since we also have small children. Tomorrow a landscape gardener is coming to me, to whom I have also sent the same sketch. I am curious to see what ideas he has.
