For the same reasons as with anat? The records sound hollow?

The sound is secondary to me, but they just don’t fit perfectly and with slight unevenness you can hardly get it perfectly into the water. It also depends on the quality of the bearings, we replaced them, the first ones were too cheap. But even the higher-quality ones didn’t get the surface as perfect as with the neighbor’s gravel...

Well, that's exactly why my tip is like this: I have them lying in gravel, 45x90x2cm. My slabs have slid, and if you step on the edge, they wobble slightly. After 2 years, I will have to lift them and re-lay them with cross joints. They are like plates, about 16cm in diameter. According to the landscaper, the crushed stone layer was too thick at 4cm; one should have used a maximum of 2cm or the correct supports that are adjustable from above.

The plates that are good are 80x40x3.8 (Kann Andalusia). The plates that are not good are 80x40x2 (Emperor Rio Dorado). Unfortunately, no weight information was found online. And yes, the thinner plates also sound different, slightly hollow, although that doesn’t bother us.

one more question:

Did you lay [Bautenschutzmatten] under the pedestals? If yes, with what thickness?

Protective mat under the pedestal supports. There are also significant differences with pedestal supports. The ones with a large plate and tilt adjustment, etc. are great. Glue individual pedestal supports to the ground. We currently only have the balcony and an exit finished. 60 x 60 x 2 cm slabs. Holds like a bomb. On the terrace, the slabs are 120 x 60 x ?. We allow rainwater to flow through and direct it into a cistern. If one slab is damaged, it can be easily replaced, and retrofitting cables or pipes is also simple.
