Hello everyone,
we would like to have a louvered roof installed on the terrace. In my internet research, it is repeatedly emphasized that such a roof should be taken from a "reliable" manufacturer with "good workmanship." But which manufacturers are meant by that? What are your experiences? And of course; which (foreign) manufacturer is good and still affordable? Manufacturer xy top, manufacturer yz flop?!

So far, I can put the following in the top basket:
- Warema
- Brustor
- Fledmex
- Renson

Or not?

Best regards and many thanks

Are you aware of the prices? We initially also wanted a slatted roof because I really like it for the design. However, the roof blocks a lot of light, which is a clear disadvantage compared to a glass roof. Also, not all manufacturers are waterproof. In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is still very poor for the roofs. That is also why we decided on aluminum-glass with automatic shading. I don't want to convert you, just give you something to think about.

I haven't seen a louvered roof there. However, I find the glass sliding door interesting. But that's another topic I still need to take care of.

Thank you very much for the thought stimulus. My wife is extremely sensitive to the sun (!), so I think a louvered roof is the right choice for us. Besides, in my opinion, glass roofs always look dirty, which is unavoidable. I once got a quote from the Slovenian manufacturer: Soltec Agava SL 170/36. The salesperson said they are great. Costs for 4.5 x 7.5 m about 20 k. That’s why this thread..

I feel similarly about the sun and prefer to sit in the shade, yet I prefer a glass roof WITH good shading options. Extreme sun isn’t always present, so you can often sit under the glass roof (e.g., wonderfully when it rains) and stay dry AND bright. In addition, the glass roof also keeps the nighttime dew off the table and chairs. In my opinion, this makes you the most flexible, because for a long part of the year it’s also nice to have the sun or brightness. If your glass roof has some slope, it almost cleans itself. Of course, you will always see some dirt, but I had it for 25 years and for me, it was one of the best decisions to have such a glass roof over the terrace that I can shade as needed.
