Ours are made of granite. The landscape gardener we trust really did a thorough job and suggested a granite for the terrace covering that is visually hardly distinguishable from the window sills.

The only difference is that the window sills are polished and the terrace slabs are rough.

We also wanted a terrace transition without a threshold (lift-slide door to wooden terrace with hollow space underneath). We were told that we absolutely had to comply with the 5cm.

Now some of you here actually have the solution without a threshold. I am confused. Can you give me more details on how it is possible to do without the threshold?

Both terrace exits are installed with us just like with Doc.Schnaggls.

However, we were offered a low threshold with the possibility to lay the terrace slabs in the threshold area. This would have required a plastic sealing and a drainage rail each.

For the front door, we decided on this; for the other two exits, I do not find the sill plates problematic.

Good evening,

Honestly? If I were you, I would give more thought to the LIFT-slide element. A SLIDE element – admittedly more expensive – would definitely be the better investment, as it is less sensitive in daily use.

Rhenish greetings

Sorry, I don't understand that now. What do you mean by sliding element? The lift-and-slide door was already expensive enough. The windows have long been installed, so nothing can be changed anymore.

What is a pure sliding element?

I only know two models:

1. The door is lifted using a lever and then slid

2. The door is lifted using a lever, "tilts" inward, and then is slid while hanging only at the top in the frame and guided at the bottom.

Are these doors also available without the LIFT function?

Regards,

Dirk
