I just came from an appointment that was about the same topic. And what can I say—I was able to throw a wrench in the seller’s plans on behalf of my clients. Rarely happens, so my clients are doing really well now. And me even more so.

Rhenish greetings from on the road

A time limit is not included in the contract? Acquaintances had it that way, with nine months that the construction company had to find a plot of land. Then you can wait it out in an emergency.

Off to the lawyer. Don’t say or write anything else about it beforehand. Are you worried about the legal fees? That’s peanuts compared to what you have to pay. I think it will be a higher 4-digit amount. You’ll be surprised at everything that will be accounted for.

Unfortunately, it happens very quickly. We were almost caught too.

A saleswoman in the show home tried to pressure us into signing in exactly the same way - and she would have convinced my girlfriend as well. Another saleswoman (from a different company with a presence in the same show home park) proactively offered to go through her building plot data collection to see if there was anything in our area. All this completely without any contractual obligation. She also contacted us a few times afterwards to ask about the status of our search (each time with the comment that unfortunately she still had not found anything in the company's data collection). So it can be done fairly too – but it is rare.

Interestingly, there is also no 14-day right of withdrawal or similar.
