Hello everyone, Since we are currently building our semi-detached house but the neighboring plot is not sold, we probably have to provisionally insulate the wall to the other house. What are your experiences? What options do I have to get out of this situation well and cheaply, since I will have to dismantle everything again later. I was offered a discounted price for 2cm mineral fiber insulation board type T 133.5 m2 amounting to 600 euros and an additional cost for installing 10cm insulation rigid foam boards wlg 035 133.5 worth 4500 euros. So quite expensive when I consider that I will have to dismantle everything again and that will also cost a few thousand euros.. Thanks for your advice

Is the sale of the neighboring property foreseeable? If yes, in my opinion an additional insulation is uneconomical. Who is forcing you to have it done? Only if it is completely uncertain whether anyone will ever build there would I have it done.

Hello, thank you. The property has not been sold yet but should be sold shortly. When the buyer will build is uncertain, but they only have 2 years. No one is forcing, but it was explained to me that it is necessary, especially because of mold caused by rain/moisture and especially over the winter. I probably can't do nothing either, or am I mistaken? Thank you

Does anyone know if it would legally be a problem not to insulate (due to the Energy Saving Ordinance) and whether damage would be expected after 1-2 winters without insulation or if we would 'merely' have significantly higher heating costs? Thanks

What does your [GU] say? Actually, a proposal has to come from him.

It simply depends on the wall. What is included in the standard? Completely uninsulated and plastered? Or some insulation and then plaster? Anyway, you only have a problem if there's some exposed insulation that can get damp. If that's not the case, you just heat a bit more for 1-2 years and that's it.
