Hello everyone,

my wife and I have bought a two-family house together. Now we want to energetically renovate our house and have already received a renovation plan. Due to the current situation with craftsmen, we plan to carry out the windows and facade ourselves. For this, the question arises whether the materials are also eligible for funding when the work is done by ourselves.
Unfortunately, I have received very different statements from friends and the energy consultant also seems to be overwhelmed with this question.

If the materials are not eligible for funding, does anyone have any other idea on how to obtain financial compensation here?

Thank you in advance for your answers!

As far as I know (but beware, only partial knowledge) material used to be eligible for funding and has not been for some time now; only what is carried out by a specialized company is eligible. You get your financial compensation by doing it yourself ;-) and not having to pay an expensive craftsman.

Materials are definitely no longer eligible for funding if done as own work. Either wait for a craftsman and get funding or do it yourself and save craftsman costs = You are funding yourself.

You are right. The funding conditions were changed with the switch to BEG funding by KfW and BAFA at the beginning of 2020, so that work carried out on one’s own and material costs are no longer eligible for funding. Only work performed by companies is eligible for funding. The guilds / associations and lobby organizations did a thorough job there. Previously, material for self-performed work was also only eligible for funding if accepted by the KfW energy consultant, which at least prevented the worst nonsense in self-managed funded measures. Now nobody is watching anymore. It can go well, but from my own experience inspecting several works of art I can also say: it doesn’t have to.

Hello,

Does this generally apply to everything?
I have replaced a heat pump with an oil heating system. Executed by a specialist company.

In the process, the following was also done:

The old flooring removed
Underfloor heating installed
New tiles laid

Am I correct in understanding that all these works are also funded at the same percentage up to a maximum of €60,000?

If I lay the tiles myself, do I at least get the subsidy on the materials, or not?
