Yes, there are reasons. For example, if the masonry of the wall cannot bear the load.

What kind of wall is this? Concrete? Then in my opinion it is also possible without support.

There are various reasons why additional support may become necessary. Presumably, the wall thickness is not sufficient for the required bearing width or the load-bearing capacity of the wall is not sufficient.

However, I would assess the previously specified HEA 160 profile as not yet statically dimensioned. It seems quite small to me. Please also consider how you will maneuver a 3.00m long profile inside the house. An HEA 160 already weighs over 90kg at 3.00m!

As a precaution, have the structural engineer design one or two bending-stiff joints, depending on how long the pieces can be for handling inside the house.
