We also receive something like that. However, we have a thinner stone (17.5 instead of 36.5) in this area. According to the architect's drawing, a 14 cm thermal insulation should be applied to the masonry, then a foil, on top of that a 4 cm air layer, and subsequently the wooden cladding. Maybe this helps you in your case.

Thank you for the answers. I will indeed decide on 24x48 slats. The air can flow through, meaning there should be no problem with mold or moisture behind it. Thank you for your input.

Hello abc12345,

thanks for your inspiration. I just asked here as well, we overlooked your post. I also want to clad a house wall with rhombus slats. However, my facade is damaged and therefore no longer protected from rain without suffering further damage.

I would now staple the foil directly to the house wall. It is vapor permeable after all. For the support battens, I would then cut strips from the foil and attach them to the battens so that they are black.

Are you sure about putting the foil on the support battens? I haven’t found anything about that here yet. I am also not adding any additional insulation.

It's a shame that you have already ordered the profiles, [gibt es als nut feder mit schattenfuge], it looks much better. Do not stain larch, but oil it.

Hello Lumpi,

the profiles with shadow gap are also significantly more expensive. I have found 2 suppliers for this and am keeping an eye on them. But as I said, expensive. I find the price excessive. You get a better deal with the foil and normal strips. It is also a question of how durable the black shadow gap is against the weather.

They are just two fundamentally different looks. A matter of taste.
