The box is placed on the rails beforehand and then simply pushed from below into the cavity. Then the rails are screwed tight.

Keep the cable outlet of the roller shutter box in mind when planning. Should it be at the back? Then you cannot simply slide the construction up on the window frame, but need an additional 2 cm of space, as the box cannot initially lie flush against the frame.

Where do you get the roller shutter from? We are also currently pondering retrofit options for external shading. But I haven't been able to find any roller shutters for prices around €200.

Of course, it depends on the size of the window, but we ended up with Schönberger. They distribute their sub-brand "Jarolift" e.g. via jalousiescout ;)
