Strangentlüfter in bathroom tile area

That is quite unusual. Internal vents are more of a plan B or common in renovation cases, but not in new construction. Possible disadvantages, besides the costs, include noise generation and some people complain about odors (the latter should not be the norm). Were there any plausible reasons why the stack venting was not routed through the roof here?

I didn't expect this with a new build either, but it also didn't stand out to me in the plans. The architect didn't think it was a big deal, but it bothered me. Next house will be different...

To close the topic and in case other builders have a similar problem. Here are two photos of the result. Could have done without it, but this is OK. Definitely better than an ugly cover :eek:.
