Good day,
I have already searched the forums and did not find any entry regarding my topic. Maybe I overlooked it.
My wife and I want to build a single-family house and have come across the steel construction option regarding the building method. This is not widespread in Germany. Abroad, e.g. in the USA, this construction method is common. We have already found a sponsor who would build with us using this method. My question here: Has anyone heard of this type or had experience with it? Are there any negative experiences or concerns related to this, e.g. regarding durability and quality (especially compared to a solid construction house).

I would be very grateful for any hints/help!

Best regards

No, why? Steel construction is standard in industrial construction. Industry has a long lifespan. All good. I see problems with financing as it is very specific.

I don't think you mean steel/steel-reinforced concrete bunkers, do you?

In other words, what are the walls/panels made of in your case? Wood? Solid? Gypsum boards?

Steel has the big disadvantage in energy-efficient house construction that it conducts heat much better. In other words, wood studs carry just as well; but do not need to be specially insulated.

Houses here also do not need to be designed to be termite resistant.

In this market segment, there are so few providers that I don't know a single one of them. It is so unpopular or market-irrelevant that you will hardly find any experiences or even comparisons of several providers. If something like this occasionally comes my way, so far it has only been bungalows, i.e., nothing multi-story.

However, this form is strongly Adsense-affine, so one could soon be bombarded in this thread (i.e., turn off the ad blocker and the flood of relevant ads will come).

A patron??? - who?

Advantage? I actually see almost only disadvantages, why would anyone build something like that?
