Hello everyone,

A question about your Helios controlled residential ventilation:

At what speed does your Helios controlled residential ventilation run and what is your target volume flow?

For us, 190 m^3/h is the target value and the system regulates itself to 1950 rpm (supply air) and 1680 rpm (exhaust air).

In two supply air rooms, a sound pressure level of 38 dB_A is produced, which is too loud for us.

Best regards

Which device exactly? Do you have silencers?

Controlled residential ventilation EC 370 with 1000 mm silencer directly between controlled residential ventilation and distribution box.

Our rotational speeds are similar, but I have not measured the noise level. However, ours is also audible when you are quiet, but at the moment it is caused by a fan with a defective ball bearing.

At the first on-site meeting with representatives from the manufacturer Helios, everyone agreed that the system in the basement is unusually loud, louder than Helios systems usually are. This was now confirmed by a measurement with a professional sound pressure meter.

In the original setting (voltage for 190 m^3/h according to the curve from the diagram), the system emits 56 dB_A, in the new reduced setting still 53 dB_A. The manufacturer's specification at 200 m^3/h is 41 dB_A, thus 12 dB_A below the value in the reduced setting. Since an increase in volume of 6 dB_A is perceived by humans as a doubling of loudness, it can be said that the system in the reduced setting is 4x as loud as stated in the catalog.

However, it is now said that this is all normal, 41 dB_A is only a laboratory value, in practice higher values may occur.

I am aware that laboratory and practical values can differ, but in my opinion being 4x as loud is not acceptable; it sounds to me like VW emission values.
