hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

why would someone buy such an old house and not bring an expert along to take a look??

you can also see the village center or neighboring houses. that should ring alarm bells.

that would be like me wanting to buy a used car and it’s standing around with the new cars...........

Very thick rather suggests solid clay. Timber framing with clay only in the infill has beam thicknesses of around 20 cm, which in my opinion is not "thick." "Solid" does not mean "made of stone." Even with shuttering stones, one does not speak of "styrofoam-coated concrete," but calls it solid construction. Or highly perforated or porous bricks, these are also called solid. In my mind’s eye, a newly built interior wall appears, which a few years ago was regularly constructed with squared timber rather than today's metal profiles. Why? - screw that. The place has stood for almost 100 years, no better proof of stability exists. At the year of construction of this house there were no building materials hazards to fear. Everything’s fine.
