Hello everyone,

we currently have 2 acoustic issues in the house after the new construction:

1. the large living-dining kitchen with approx. 40 sqm and 2.80m high ceilings is acoustically rather poor, a lot of echo and high volume. Probably also because of few walls and the parquet floor which also reflects the echo. With the curtains and some upholstered chairs it got slightly better. A high-pile carpet is still in planning. Does anyone have experience with sound elements? For example, pyramid foam / Basotect on walls, ceiling or under furniture (table, chair). Which areas are necessary from experience here to achieve an improvement?

Does anyone use acoustic pictures / or built them themselves?

2. Due to the open house you can also hear noises from the laundry room and technical room (controlled residential ventilation), same question, does anyone have experience with sound protection elements / sound insulation for these rooms?

Thanks, regards Andreas

Haha, plants need watering and crime stuff needs dusting, so a technical solution ideally with a USB connection

We also had serious concerns after we painted our 40m² living space. The echo was extreme and very unpleasant. But with the furniture and the rest of the junk, it disappeared completely. A good reason to damn the puritanical decor and, for example, get a model car or porcelain plate collection.
