Hello everyone
We are currently building a semi-detached house in Rhineland-Palatinate and have an urgent question burning under our nails. It would be great if someone could give us a good tip. The situation is as follows:
We have offered on our part to share the material costs equally - even though we think (!) that we should not have to do this according to pure law. We would like to understand what the "correct" solution in such a case is. Can someone help us?
Best regards
We are currently building a semi-detached house in Rhineland-Palatinate and have an urgent question burning under our nails. It would be great if someone could give us a good tip. The situation is as follows:
[*]in our semi-detached house, the shell construction is currently finished - the party wall to our neighbor therefore already exists
[*]this neighbor is now building
[*]the question arises as to who is responsible for the correct installation of the soundproofing mats
[*]according to our understanding, the legal situation (Neighbor Law Rhineland-Palatinate, § 15) is such that the adjoining neighbor must ensure complete soundproofing
[*]our neighbor is of the opinion that he is responsible for "his" soundproofing - and we must also install soundproofing mats on our party wall. This, of course, from his property - we should bear the cost of materials, labor, ordering the panels, ...
We have offered on our part to share the material costs equally - even though we think (!) that we should not have to do this according to pure law. We would like to understand what the "correct" solution in such a case is. Can someone help us?
Best regards
