Hello community,

has anyone of you installed a brine heat pump with ground collectors (baskets 3-4m deep) in the water protection area? Is the effort even worth it?

Not done, but the general contractor is checking it, among other things based on the soil report, to see if it makes sense. About 3 weeks ago we found out that our property is in the water protection area. However, the water protection area has only existed for 2 years. So after the property purchase.

But it only makes sense if you have a property that is big enough. We have about 200 sqm of space in front of the house. There will be no trees there either.

And did you decide on the brine heat pump after all? We have enough space. We still have to plant a tree there. But I think it won’t bother the baskets.

We definitely want a ground-water heat pump if possible. Trees and surface collectors do not get along. You also need water-permeable paving stones according to the general contractor. If a ground-water heat pump makes sense for us, the general contractor might possibly lay the collectors along the property line. But we'll discuss that then.
