Steffi, which system from Wolf do you have? We also have one, and whenever I operate that thing, I too look for this function.

We have now also painted the solar system. €3,000 investment vs. €100 real savings/year

You should not turn off your heating, but to check whether the system is delivering proper performance, you can also simply turn off the gas valve for a couple of days! If your heating does not produce an error message, then no attempt was made to heat hot water using gas.

With us, it is also clearly measurable by the hot water temperature. With gas about 53 degrees, as soon as the solar system heats as well, it comes out of the tap significantly warmer.

Sorry.. I only find time to check in here again now...

We have the Wolf CSZ-2R... The Wolf brochure does advertise that you can nicely read off the output on the system. However, our heating specialist and also our general contractor say that this would only be possible for us with a significant surcharge and would also make the system prone to malfunctions.. It all seems suspicious to me.. On the phone you get talked into nonsense, so that in the end you no longer have an overview..

We have deliberately lowered the storage temperature to "dishwashing temperature".. My husband thinks that every hot water withdrawal (e.g. evening/morning) causes reheating and the burner switches on to have 300 liters of hot water ready at the set temperature again. We definitely don’t need 300 liters of hot water all the time.. I would most like to turn off the gas boiler and see how far we get. Can one dare to try that?

Best regards Steffi

Leave the boiler on so that the control system keeps running. Just turn off the gas valve.

That is not possible with Vaillant, for example. Then there is an error and everything stops.

My solution: connected a push button to the BURNER_OFF contact and done. In summer it is closed and therefore there is no reheating. After consultation with Vaillant you can do this "unofficially" :)
