I am also using this thread to get clarity regarding earth excavation:
We are building a single-family house (approximately 10x10m) with a waterproof basement and want to know how high the costs for excavation are.
I can calculate the costs for the disposal site. For us, it costs €8.80 per 1m³ of earth excavation. At about 400-500m³, that amounts to around €4,000.
A construction company told me yesterday:
- We have included the earth excavation in your offer and set it at €36,000. Anything you have been told that is below this is not correct. You definitely have to reckon with this amount. However, the offer only includes: soil class up to 6 and Z0. So just "simple" soil.
He then said something like: You alone have set aside €16,000 for disposal costs, the rest would then be excavation. How the hell does he come up with 16k???
I am now wondering, how on earth does he come up with €36,000??
We have estimated ancillary costs for earth excavation at €20,000 and have so far been told by other construction companies that this is quite well calculated.
What do you think? Could €36,000 be realistic for this project or is that total nonsense?
