Hello everyone,

I have a question. In the new Ikea catalog, there is a sofa bed for 79€ - I mean, that's really a bargain. I'm looking for an affordable sofa bed for my guest room; but I also don't want to be responsible for my guests waking up with a stiff neck or a dislocated hip.

Has anyone out there ever slept on it - if yes, I would appreciate a comfort report.

I have already received some tips for buying a mattress here in the forum, especially trying it out helped a lot. However, at that time I was on vacation and therefore had the time. But the mentioned guest is coming next weekend and I simply can't make it to the blue and yellow wonderland this weekend or during the week.

So please!!! - I'm grateful for any tip

See you soon Nils

hey nils,

which sofa bed are you talking about? I didn't find any on the ikea site for that price...
in general, it's like that a sofa bed is only really for guests or short overnight stays. a bed with a proper mattress can't be replaced by that. but for guests or for one night, such a sofa bed is great.

best, sky

Hi.

You certainly mean the SOLSTA 2-seat sofa bed. It is the cheapest option. When it comes to sleeping comfort, you shouldn't expect much for the price. It will certainly suffice for one to three nights. But if the guest stays for one to two weeks, it could become uncomfortable. My recommendation would be the GRANKULLA/ MASSUM for €119. That way, you're investing in better comfort.

Hi Lukas,

thanks for the tip, it comes just in time. Tomorrow morning quickly go to IKEA to get the couch, go home to assemble the thing and then at three pick up my guest at the station. I will take your advice and throw myself into expenses ;) - just hope they are available in stock.

I’ll tell you next week how my guests felt about their bedding.

Have a nice weekend...

Hi Lukas,

here is the promised report. My visit slept "perfectly" on the couch. However, we also went out partying hard and they were really into it ;) , I think I could have even put a whole bag of peas under the bed and she would have "perfectly" slept.
On Sunday evening I made myself comfortable on the unfolded couch to watch a movie. I only woke up on Monday and promptly overslept.

It was a great tip with the sofa bed - thanks again
