Controllinos and Smartmanager were not even on my radar yet. Sounds very interesting. I have something to read again :)We have "Controllinos" and "Smartmanager," both not makeshift solutions but industrially implemented Arduinos or Raspis. When you take a closer look at everything the Raspi controls (in industry), no one doubts anymore that the Raspi can also control a single-family house (and is actually just bored the whole time ;-)) A suitable documentation along with appropriate labeling of the hardware is maintained by us for everything so that "knowledgeable third parties" can continue, adjust, or change the system at any time. If in doubt, remove Controllinos and control relays (industrial relays ;-) ) directly as described by . Controllino "firmware" is securely backed up separately for each residential unit on the server so that replacement can be relayed quickly. The Raspi with OpenHAB and IOBroker is programmed "universally" with many variables so that it can be used in all 4 residential units (one is kept as a spare) and only the IP needs to be adjusted. So it's a matter of a few minutes. By the way, we are currently considering moving the logic of the Raspi (OpenHAB and IOBroker) to the cloud (in the future "fog"). For example, 1-wire temperature sensors cost 1.xx € (I think 5 pieces for 6€). 1-wire humidity + temperature sensor combo something around 6€ net. Wiring directly to the Controllinos (as well as all standard Gira 55 buttons), logic with long-term logging is done by the Raspi. (soon with backup to the cloud)
