I don't know if I'm in the right place here, but I haven't found any other area where the topic fits well.

We have our [Hebauf/Richtfest] on Saturday. As far as I know, the construction team gets a small gift.

My question: what price range does that typically fall into, and is it just an envelope with money or have you made a small, suitable gift?

I would appreciate experiences and your ideas. (that should also be feasible by Saturday)

I am not familiar with the idea that the construction team (Who are they, civil engineers, structural engineers, carpenters, roofers...?) receives a gift. "Hebauf" does not mean anything to me either. We, as builders, received gifts at the topping-out ceremony back then.

Hebauf = Topping out

Traditionally, the carpenters were paid their first wage here, but that is no longer the case. However, I am used to the fact that a small thank you is given to the carpenters (instead of the previously customary wage at the topping out). Since we are building a wooden house, it is the construction team here.

About how many people are we talking roughly? I don’t know this custom that way either. I only know it as the builders having a small or big party with neighbors, friends, and possibly craftsmen at the topping out ceremony, and the builders receive gifts. At the topping out ceremonies I have been to so far, the craftsmen never stayed long (which I can also understand).

If you want to give something small (which I think is very nice), then since Christmas is just around the corner, I would most likely give everyone a little money and a small token (like, for example, a few homemade cookies in a nice bag). I think everyone can make use of that. Now, of course, I don’t know how many people this concerns and what you are willing to spend on it.

I've never heard of that either... We had a barbecue and invited, besides friends and neighbors, also the shell builders and carpenters (or rather, the latter were there anyway).
