I just want to quote one colleague: "You don't buy a big plot, you buy distance from the neighbors."

We are really glad not to be stuck on a typical urban new development plot with 400 sqm. The orchard meadow is occasionally mowed (with a brush cutter, because a lawnmower has no chance), the bushes are prevented from completely overgrowing the garden. Otherwise, we do little. It suits us perfectly personally. A few prudish neighbors tear each other apart over our wilderness. We are happy with it :-)

Regards Michael

That is the main thing, the rest does not matter :)

How exactly should I imagine your orchard meadow?
"Wild meadow" with fruit trees?

About 300 sqm. With 4 apple trees, a pear tree, plum, walnut, cherry. All old standard trees from around 1960. Except for the pear, they are still bearing fruit very well. In between, some areas with various wild flowers and bushes, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants. Along the property boundary, various tall shrubs and hornbeam, since we are surrounded by many neighbors and would otherwise be sitting on a silver platter. But there is still enough space to talk to the nice neighbors. Regards Michael

What do you think is a nice distance? Normally, there are 6 meters between detached houses, which is not bad in terms of noise. A whole forest in between would of course be great. ;)

Exactly, one could start a new topic: how far is your distance to the neighbors? :)
