Single-family house - Size of wardrobe?

Currently we have rows of hooks on the wall and no hangers but all the jackets for the whole year are in there - it actually doesn't have to be that way - in addition, we have 1m wide floor-to-ceiling shelves, each fitting 4 pairs of shoes side by side or the baskets with shoe cream / bowl, hats etc. - no school bags or shopping bags (there is a storage room in the new house and now the cellar). Umbrellas are kept separately

I basically agree with you... but if you follow the floor plan discussions here for a while, I ask myself where many store their winter boots and winter jackets?? In an 80sqm double garage or the 5.5sqm utility room/laundry room? Or do they then store them together with the Christmas decorations and suitcases in the 1.2m high attic??

Yes, with some floor plans here you really have to ask yourself the question. That's why I also like to say that storage space is (almost) as important as living space. A basement is, for example, a great place to store your collection of shoes and jackets properly.
