I had to rephrase the headline because the allowed number of characters was exceeded.

I would be interested to know if there is anyone else here in the forum who would still like to sign a construction contract this year to avoid the price increase effective 01.01. What do your contracts say and what have you paid attention to? Do you still feel well advised?

The information that most construction companies will raise their prices on 01.01. has now been confirmed by an expert in prefabricated house construction.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

We will also sign this week, however, we would have done so even without the "imminent" price increase. We still had enough lead time to negotiate the contract, payment schedule, and scope of services with the GU. I think these are somewhat different conditions, but it is still exciting to take the next step.

Sign only if you have gained clarity and truly want to. Otherwise, do not. These are the only true measures.

As long as everything is not finally clarified, do not sign.

Depending on how seriously the argument of the price increase is taken, that would be it for me with the general contractor.

I can still vaguely remember the end of November/beginning of December 15.
The appointment only aimed at signing. Open questions were not addressed at all. Selling a private health insurance was even more important. - The general contractor never saw us again.

Now honestly. Yes, almost everyone has price increases as of January 1.
But does the groundbreaking happen one day earlier if signed now and everything clarified afterward, or if everything is clarified first and then signed?

I see it the same way. In the past weeks, we have indeed had some points changed, which would have otherwise been very disadvantageous for us. I don't think the [GU] would have agreed to this afterwards.

So don't rush anything, otherwise small oversights can cost you more than a possible price increase.
