We have an open, tiled shower with a clear glass wall on one side. Although I have only showered in it a few times so far, I am already enthusiastic. I cannot confirm the feeling of cold at all. It also hardly splashes out. (Length 130cm) The occasional drops dry immediately thanks to the underfloor heating. Also - regardless of open/closed or tiled/bathtub - you usually place a towel or something similar in front of the shower, since the feet are always wet regardless of the shower.

We have large format tiles and a water softener system; let's see how cleaning will go.
