I am not sure right now where "customary with us" is. In Germany, there are already recognized rules of construction and they apply everywhere. Be that as it may, slope screed is laid - as the name suggests - by the screed layer. He can do it and does it with the rest of the screed at no extra cost. Of course, you can set it up as is obviously customary with you and only with you, and Uncle Paul comes with bagged goods and tries to save 20 EUR. My advice, stop the mess and have it done professionally for 0 EUR extra.

Also, the screed layer would have to use different material, as usually flowing screed is laid in the rest of the house and this is not suitable for slope modeling. So it doesn't matter who does it. Above all, the tiler variant has the advantage that he is to blame himself if something doesn’t fit later. Otherwise, he could always say the sloping screed wasn’t right. Be that as it may, that’s not the original question here.

Ivenh0, I totally agree with you, for me the shower is a complete trade with sloped screed. And that belongs in the hands of the tiler. Screed, waterproofing, and then tiles.

Same with us: screed is left out in the shower. The tiler will do this later according to his knowledge with the appropriate slope! The screed layer can only be pumped and horizontal. Expansion joint is of course included.

Regarding the TE: whether tiled or just a shower tray is a matter of taste. Some feel safer with a shower tray. I don't know of tileable shower elements – is that DIY store stuff for non-experts?

Here also from the tiler. We were told that they often have problems when it is applied at the same time as the screed. Sometimes it doesn’t fit, and then all the stuff has to be removed again.

Thank you all! As discussed with the house builder, we will leave out the screed in the shower area and instead of a tilable shower element, have a sloped screed installed.

The house company just recommended a shower element from the company Schedel with already integrated sealing and slope (4-sided). However, installation is not really suitable for 1.5 left hands.
