Hello everyone,
I would like to get your opinion on the topic of kitchen islands.
So, we received a design from a kitchen builder where both the stove and the sink are installed on the kitchen island.
What speaks in favor: most of the time when cooking is spent at the sink and the stove, so it makes sense to have both next to each other. Furthermore, when you have guests and are cooking for them, you can continuously chat and don’t have to turn your back on anyone. I could also keep an eye on my little child while washing up. And no water splashes between the sink and stove.
Disadvantages: you have little workspace on the island, only about 50 cm. However, sufficient workspace would be available elsewhere, where we would have 2 meters continuous.
Dirty dishes on the island always catch the eye, which of course ruins the aesthetic aspect of the island.
What would you do? Conventional or put both on the island? Maybe someone has experience with that.
Best regards, Kathrin
