Hello everyone,

our living, cooking, and dining area is unfortunately not very large (33 sqm) and probably not ideally laid out either. However, what we regret most is our short TV wall.

Do you have any ideas on how we could design it? I was thinking of a room divider next to the wall, but I don’t know how or what, since there are also switches for roller shutters and sockets on the wall that I cannot block.

I would be very grateful for any ideas.

Best regards

Hmm yes, more than inconvenient. Just move the switches somewhere else where they fit better. Like into the room divider once it’s there. May I ask why one builds like this? You already know beforehand that a TV, etc. is going into the room.

Can you provide a plan with all measurements? Ideally with the furniture planned so far. From the photo, I do not feel able to give qualified advice.

The apartment was purchased as is from the developer. When we saw it, we asked the same question. The statement was that a longer wall would make the area smaller, which I find understandable. However, the wall should have been a few centimeters longer anyway. Another point is that it would also reduce the natural light in the cooking area. So overall, it's our own fault, but I didn't want to make the whole project dependent on the short TV wall.

Your tip also crossed my mind. But the fact that the already small living-kitchen-dining area would appear even smaller visually has so far stopped me.

My goal is really just that it looks a bit better visually than hanging the TV naked on the short wall -.-

Maybe such room dividers in this direction would make sense. Here you wouldn't obstruct the switches either.

I currently only have a screenshot available. I also had to crop it a bit because otherwise the numbers are difficult to see. Does that help? Actually, only the living area is unplanned so far. There will probably be a small corner sofa/living area in front of the TV wall (4-seater)

It's not all that ideal. Check if the sofa can be swapped with the TV regarding the door opening.
