Hello everyone,

Subject: Shell construction and awarding all trades ourselves, I am currently thinking about this.

Are pipelines and openings for plumbing and electrical work (e.g., through floors/ceiling panels) usually installed during the shell construction? Who normally does this, the shell constructor themselves or do the two trades come in during the shell construction and do it?

Best regards!

That can be handled in various ways. Already in the concrete plant according to the plan. When laying bricks, when pouring the ceilings, and of course also afterwards with the core drill.

Different trades can be involved each time here, and everyone (sanitary, electrician, heating technician, etc.) does everything either beforehand or afterwards. It depends on the plan and coordination.

Of course, it is best to determine everything in advance. But 1005 it is rarely achieved, and later there are still additional breakthroughs necessary here and there.

In the floor slab, empty conduits (usually KG pipes) for all media are led outward and cast into the concrete. Filigree slabs are used as floor ceilings in the majority of cases. These already contain the large openings from the concrete plant. The required openings for the topping slab must be reserved in advance. However, the concrete worker takes care of this. For houses with basements, the section "floor ceiling" applies analogously. In general, the tradesmen are equipped to create their own holes. However, an idea of the routes (horizontal and vertical) should be available before construction begins in order to avoid crossings or collisions as well as "wild" laying. It should be noted that all holes in ceilings must be made before insulation, as the lines disappear into the insulation or the subsequent screed. Small drillings (e.g., for lamps) should be made in the ceiling from below, as more precise work can be done there. Coordination consulting of the trades is also helpful. The construction manager should organize this before the start of work.
