Make a detailed list. Keep a household budget. Your expenses seem very low to me. With a €1,400 all-inclusive rent, you only have €1,200 left for the rest. Subtract €100 for gasoline and car insurance/car tax from that, and we have €1,000 for 5 people for food, clothing, sports clubs, other insurances, mobile phones, internet, etc. Something is not right in the calculation....

? With 5,000 euros net and 1,400 euros for rent including heating, they only have 1,200 euros left ?

No. A total of 2,600 € expenses are stated. Of which 1,400 € is warm rent. Leaving 1,200 € for everything else for 5 people.

I consider the mentioned expenses including rent absolutely unrealistic for a household of 5 people already paying €1,400 warm rent. And if this is not broken down in more detail here, it is simply not comprehensible at all. How should one make a statement about the actually possible scope?

Actually, the discussion about the expenses is totally irrelevant. There is €5000 available and €80,000 have already been saved. So the family will manage very well with a €1000-1500 installment. And with that, €300,000-400,000 are financed and affordable.

We actually have no other fixed costs. Clothing, vacations, vehicle tax, and other extras are paid from the 13th month salaries and from our tax refunds. Otherwise, there are birthday money, etc., from the family. That is spent on "luxuries" and the rest is saved. We live quite down-to-earth and not wastefully.
