Hello everyone,
Thank you for your answers.
We have already made progress. We are waiting until the neighbor's basement is finished. Our house is considered in the neighbor's structural plan.
Unfortunately, our structural engineer says our house will only stand as long as the neighbor's house is not demolished. The risk is always there.
The neighbor may also have concerns that our house's load will be transferred to his walls. This could later cause cracks.
The suggestion was to build underpinning to eliminate later problems.
We waited until the basement is finished; this will not have these problems with underpinning.
We agreed to build a strip foundation and put concrete walls or piles in it.
Whether it is 30 cm distance or 1 m distance will still be calculated. The shared wall is 12 m long.
We will see how best to solve it and share costs. Because now the supporting wall is only for us, so the neighbor has nothing to do with it.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Harish B
