Yes, but you say that it can mess up the KfW calculation

Mine is 60x60x60 and was also included in the thermal insulation calculation back then.

It’s against the ground anyway – no real cold comes up from there. If necessary, the box will just be insulated as well

Yep - that was the reason why my basement builder no longer builds them (in our case in combination with a white tank) - whether the reason is valid - no idea -> as a potential builder I would simply pass this question on to the energy consultant - if he says it doesn’t matter (like in your case) then everything is fine.

White tank is rather a problem – no matter how well it is sealed, it is a separation joint and thus a potential weak point, which is extremely difficult to access again.
