Hello, I am considering whether to plaster the area behind the washbasin seamlessly or to have tiles installed? Does anyone have experience with a corresponding plaster or can help me with the decision? I am leaning towards plaster because it looks very nice. I only have concerns that soap splashes or toothpaste might leave stains. Thanks for your opinion.

Nothing. Regular plaster is sufficient.

That, of course, depends on personal standards/behavior. You could also paint the plaster or coat it with a paint that is scrub-resistant, meaning it can withstand being wiped with a damp cloth. Moreover, it also depends on whether your basin is mounted on the wall or on a wooden board with some distance or similar. Generally, I find fewer tiles and more plaster nicer as well. So just use a good or suitable paint that can really endure wiping.

Dold makes seamless systems. But it is not plaster. We have it in the showers and at the sinks. In the shower, just wipe it off. Done. You can't scrub it though, but you don't have any joints where something could settle. We are happy with the decision.
